To summarize day three and four: I did not keep my exercise goals. I know, I know, that’s the first sign of a quitter, but it’s also what happens when life gets in the way and you run out of time in your day to keep up with the schedule. Excuses are terrible, but I stand on my feet all day on the weekends making the idea of walking on the treadmill, on my poor little footsies sound unbearable! I am going to work on breaking this little no exercise streak tomorrow.
The good news (Yes, there is good news!) is I managed to stay within my calorie count on the My Fitness Pal app so I am not sure how much damage was really done by my two day break in exercise. Oh yeah, and I somehow managed to sneak a candy or two into my calorie count. (The horror! – and yes, I know that really was a bad thing to do…shame on me!)
I’m terrible really, I was feeling really bad about it all day, so much so that it made me feel like giving up on this whole healthy living and just go back to trying to live. That’s not what I want to do though. It’s not my goal. I want to be healthier. I want to get back in shape.
“Quitting” the bad habits of food is just as difficult as quitting smoking to me. They both require one major thing: NEVER STOP QUITTING!
It doesn’t matter how many times you falter in a diet, or when you are quitting smoking. The most important thing is that you KEEP quitting. I may have broke down the system yesterday and today, but guess what? Tomorrow is a new day, and I am going to get right back to the system I had in place.
Wish me luck folks! I’ll keep you posted! How are your New Year’s goals coming along?
