Today was definitely not perfect as far as healthy living goes, but I certainly did better than I have been doing.
For starters I joined the My Fitness Pal app, and set up my goal weight and that I’d like to lose 2 lbs. per week to get there and they gave me a set number of calories to meet for the day. I added my meals in, all of which I made healthy choices on, the exception being the oh so tasty blue cheese dressing I used on my salad at lunch, and the sweet iced tea I drank with it. I did however, go sparingly on the dressing! I consider that a win overall!
I got my butt moving today, and started walking on the treadmill. I knocked out a mile today, I also got myself started on my sit-up and push-up routine in the evening hours. I wish I could say I did amazing at those, but I must admit it was a struggle to knock them out.
For it only being around 7pm, and having accomplished everything I wanted for my healthy living start, I am feeling quite proud. The only thing left on my list, is to spend a few minutes working on my Simply Fit Board.
I’ve also been thinking in a few weeks from now, maybe a month I’m probably going to break down and invest in a membership to the local YMCA. Yes, I have a treadmill at home, but they have so many other machines that are great that I’d like to try and get to work on! Plus there is something about being around others who are just as motivated to get back into shape that can be really inspiring.
As for right now though, with Day One almost over, I can tell by my stomach already, that I’ll be going to bed hungry!
About me and my current health:
I take medicine that works against me in this fight against obesity. It not only slows my metabolism down, but it increases my appetite. With that combination you can guess it ain’t been easy to lose the weight. In fact, it’s a recipe for gaining weight, which is what I’ve been doing for the last three years. I am hopeful that this year, I can find a way to push beyond the effects of the medicine even if it takes me having to learn to go to bed hungry every day!
