Modeling Clay

And today’s creations are brought to you by modeling clay bought from my all time favorite store: Michael’s.

And believe me when I say these might be some of the worlds worst masterpieces yet! Since I am going to guess you’ll have trouble being able to tell what these are from left to right we have a small square, doggy, and a bunny sculpture.

BE NICE…I’ve never used clay before in my LIFE! This is all a first try for me, they are still wet. They air dry when finished so it’ll be a few days before I see how they really look, and perhaps I’ll paint them.

I’m thinking clay may not be my medium, but I’m going to keep at it for awhile and see what I can do. I have to try everything you know. It’s only fair. 🙂

I had no idea what I was doing either. There were no instructions with the clay, other than to knead it and I couldn’t figure that out at first because it was hard as a rock. So I muddled my way through by cutting chunks off of the block and wetting them until it was pliable, then molded away. I’d say I need a class in this stuff, what do you think? I clearly don’t have any kind of technique down, and I am probably teaching it to myself all wrong!

It’s been fun though and that’s what matters!

Anyone have any horror stories about working with clay?
